On May 18-19, 2021, EGI hosted its first-ever virtual Corporate Associate Technical Conference. EGI scientists shared updates, developments, and new research project proposals in the evolving energy transition environment and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic conditions. Also new for this Corporate Associate Technical conference, speakers from other areas in the University of Utah contributed to both days’ technical content. EGI was pleased to welcome:
The Utah FORGE Team updated members with their ongoing research at the FORGE Geothermal Site in Milford, Utah, with emphasis on site drilling progress. EGI's ongoing geothermal studies also featured tracer testing project highlights and applied electromagnetic geophysical research. EGI’s carbon science initiative was well represented, covering the CarbonSAFE sequestration project. Multiple scientists presented on the role of machine learning at EGI as a new tool for future scientific work.
EGI scientists highlighted some of the benefits available to Corporate Associate members, which current members may take advantage of:
If you couldn't join us for the live event, recordings of both days' sessions are available for immediate viewing on EGI's YouTube channel and on egi.utah.edu/videos, along with EGI's other excellent scientific video content.
