Phil Wannamaker Elected to IRIS Board of Directors

Dr. Phil Wannamaker Research Professor and member of the Utah FORGE team, was elected as a member of the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS)’s Board of Directors in December 2020. IRIS, which operates under the National Science Foundation, is a consortium of over 125 U.S. universities that advances seismological research and education. Dr. Wannamaker is serving a three year term with the board, which ends in 2023. Dr. Wannamaker has maintained a long relationship with IRIS, including his recent membership on the IRIS Electromagnetic Advisory Committee. He is the first in his field, electromagnetic geophysics, to win a spot on IRIS’ Board of Directors. EGI offers warm congratulations to Dr. Wannamaker on this groundbreaking achievement.
